Yo, these are not your childhood rice krispie treats. These suckers are seriously loaded with marshmallows and are perfect for breakfast, lunch, AND dinner.
People have been making rice krispie treats for years, and for years everyone has eaten crunchy rice krispie treats. They crunched away and smiled politely through their crunching even though in their hearts they knew this could not be the best that was out there. Well, folks, you were right, there is a better way and this recipe is the key. This recipe seriously makes the ooey gooey-ist, treats. So good you won’t be able to eat just one. Also, fun bonus, if for some crazy reason you don’t finish all of them in one day, they remain ooey and gooey – when kept in proper tupperware – for days!

Rice Krispie Treats
Equipment
- 8×8 Baking Dish
- Large Pot
Ingredients
- 5 tbsp Unsalted Butter
- 8 cups Mini Marshmallows
- 2 cups Mini Marshmallows these are extra
- 6 cups Puffed Rice Cereal
- ½ tsp Salt
Instructions
- Start by lining an 8×8 pan (or 9×13, if you want a thinner treat) with foil or parchment and spray, lightly, with cooking spray. Set aside.
- In a large pot, melt the butter over low heat.
- Once melted add in 8 cups of the mini marshmallows, constantly stirring until you have a very yummy looking marshmallow fluff situation.
- Once the marshmallows are melted remove from heat and stir in rice krispie cereal and salt until completely coated in marshmallow mixture.
- Now stir in the remaining 2 cups of mini marshmallows and any other mix-ins your little heart desires.
- Pour mixture into the prepared pan and press to even it out. I recommend spraying your hands (or a spatula) with cooking spray to keep the marshmallow from sticking as your press it into the pan.
- Allow the treats to cool completely before cutting them into squares. Once cooled feel free to drizzle or dip in chocolate. Best if served the same day, but if you manage to have leftovers keep those babies in an airtight container and they will last another day or two.
